Il voulait faire conna\u00eetre les r\u00e9percussions \u00e9motionnelles, physiques et sociales de l\u2019ecz\u00e9ma, tout en donnant de l\u2019espoir aux personnes qui en sont touch\u00e9es.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">\u00ab Je me bats contre l&#8217;ecz\u00e9ma depuis toujours, et il se r\u00e9percute grandement sur ma vie quotidienne. Des activit\u00e9s banales sont synonymes de douleur et d\u2019inconfort quand on a une peau ab\u00eem\u00e9e. Des t\u00e2ches en apparence simples peuvent devenir extr\u00eamement douloureuses, comme se laver les mains, surtout quand le savon renferme des ingr\u00e9dients qui aggravent les sympt\u00f4mes cutan\u00e9s. M\u00eame me laver et me s\u00e9cher la peau d\u00e9clenche des r\u00e9actions intenses, et je dispose d\u2019environ 30 br\u00e8ves secondes de r\u00e9pit avant la survenue de d\u00e9mangeaisons venimeuses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Le fait d&#8217;avoir grandi dans une famille dont la langue principale n\u2019\u00e9tait pas l\u2019anglais a rendu ma vie plus difficile. \u00c0 l&#8217;adolescence, je devais expliquer des termes m\u00e9dicaux complexes et d\u00e9fendre ma cause en disant que mes probl\u00e8mes cutan\u00e9s ne d\u00e9coulaient pas simplement de mon alimentation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Les r\u00e9percussions de l\u2019ecz\u00e9ma allaient au-del\u00e0 des aspects physiques et touchaient l\u2019image corporelle et l\u2019estime de soi. Les plaies visibles sur mon visage, qui \u00e9taient souvent plus brunes que rouges, me causaient de l\u2019embarras. Mes parents et mes pairs me demandaient sans cesse si je prenais soin ad\u00e9quatement de ma peau, alors que dans les faits j\u2019essayais tout ce que je pouvais pour prendre en charge mon ecz\u00e9ma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">En tant que porte-parole de la cause, j\u2019encourage fortement les gens \u00e0 ne pas juger les personnes atteintes d\u2019ecz\u00e9ma et \u00e0 ne pas les faire sentir diminu\u00e9es. J&#8217;esp\u00e8re parvenir \u00e0 susciter l\u2019empathie et la compr\u00e9hension, et \u00e0 faire reconna\u00eetre notre combat quotidien et la force requise pour composer avec les complexit\u00e9s de la vie avec l\u2019ecz\u00e9ma. \u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">La SCE remercie chaleureusement Timothy d\u2019avoir racont\u00e9 son histoire.
