Congratulations to the Recipients of the 2023 ESC Research Grants
Eczema Society of Canada (ESC) is delighted to announce the two winners of the competitive 2023 Research Grant Program (RGP) recipients, awarding funding to research and educational programs that will work to advance eczema care here in Canada.
Recipient 1
Project Title: Educational Intervention on Atopic Dermatitis for Nursing Staff at Remote Indigenous Communities and Nursing Stations Project.

Project Summary: The main goal of the research project is to design a comprehensive educational intervention program on eczema tailored to the specific needs and challenges of nursing staff in rural Indigenous communities and ultimately improve access and quality of care for patients affected by eczema and living in remote communities.
ESC offers congratulations to Dr. Shamsuyarova for advancing her important work. Dr. Shamsuyarova tells ESC, “AD remains a significant burden for patients and their families, especially those living in remote communities. Project Summary:
There is a critical gap in addressing various ethnicities and cultural groups’ unique needs within existing eczema patient education programs. Our research project aims to address this gap and enhance care and quality of life for pediatric atopic dermatitis patients and their families through a comprehensive educational program tailored to diverse cultural contexts.
