Are you looking for easy-to-implement lifestyle changes to help you better manage your eczema symptoms?10 tip ad blog english

We know that living with eczema is no easy task. Looking to share some supportive advice, we turned to some experts for tips to cope with symptoms of atopic dermatitis.

Here are the 10 tips to Improve your AD Symtops

  1. Hydrate your skin by taking short baths or showers with warm water.
  2. Moisturize your skin after bathing or showering, and while your skin is still damp.
  3. You can also moisturize throughout the day when your skin feels dry.
  4. Look for skin care products that have earned ESC’s Seal of Acceptance, including gentle cleansers, moisturizers, and wipes.
  5. Identify your triggers and do your best to avoid them when you can (we know this is hard!).
  6. Stay cool in the heat! Sweat is a common eczema trigger. Wear loose-fitting, breathable clothes made from 100% cotton.
  7. Choose dye-free, fragrance-free laundry detergents and wash new clothes before you wear them. Check out laundry products that have earned the ESC Seal of Acceptance.
  8. Protect your skin from the sun. ESC asked Toronto-based dermatologist Dr. Cheryl Rosen about choosing a sunscreen, and she recommends choosing a sunscreen with ingredients like zinc oxide and titanium dioxide which are physical sunscreens instead of chemical formulations.
  9. Dr. Rosen also reminded us to avoid the strongest rays of mid-day and dress in light layers to protect your skin.
  10. Practice skin care after enjoying the pool. Dr. Miriam Weinstein, a dermatologist and pediatrician, tells ESC that it’s important for eczema sufferers to rinse their skin after swimming and follow up with their skin routine.

We hope these tips help you enjoy the summer, stay cool, and itch free (we can dream!).
